After founding his practice in 1926, William had little time to get established before the stock market crash triggered a fiscal crisis that turned lives and fortunes upside down. His devoted service to clients and the community alike during these troubled times led to his election as a State Representative for West Lynn in the General Court for the Massachusetts Legislature in 1935. William continued in service as the First Assistant Attorney General and was eventually appointed the Presiding Justice of the Lynn District Court in 1952 where he served in that capacity until his death in 1970.

Pamela and Christopher, two of Pauline and Joseph Casey’s five children, followed in their father’s footsteps, earning their law degrees and joining the family firm. Christopher honed the firm’s focus to practice probate litigation, probate administration, and estate planning. Although Pamela left the practice to focus on Public Service following her election to serve as the Register of Probate in Essex County, the family connections at the firm continued to thrive as Christopher brought his wife, Sharon, into the practice. Christopher and Sharon met in Washington, D.C. during their law school clerkships and married in 1992. Sharon thereafter spent six years in-house at Fidelity Investments in Boston before she joined the firm. Sharon naturally took on a Supervising Partner role with the Real Estate Department until she was appointed to serve as The Baker/Polito Administration’s Deputy Legal Counsel and Executive Director of the Judicial Nominating Commission. She later became Clerk-Magistrate of the Cambridge District Court where Sharon continues to serve today.

By the turn of the decade there was still more to come. In 2017, Attorney Allison Rose Burns joined the firm’s Litigation Department after graduating Suffolk Law School cum laude. Since joining the firm, Allison has earned a reputation as one of the best probate litigators in Massachusetts and was named a Rising Star by SuperLawyers Magazine by her peers in 2021, 2022, and 2023. Today, Allison Burns serves as Partner & C.O.O., while Christopher Casey continues in his role as Managing Partner, and William Lundregan shares the benefit of his experience in an Of Counsel role. The team at Casey Lundregan Burns, P.C. now includes eight attorneys supported by knowledgeable administrators, paralegals and assistants all devoted to protecting families in Massachusetts with fiduciary litigation, probate administration, estate planning, and real estate assistance throughout the Commonwealth. The firm now has two locations, which include our Northshore Salem office and our convenient, by-appointment-only, Newbury Street office in Boston. Although the legal profession has changed since 1926, and the technology involved in the legal practice has grown to unimaginable levels when our firm first started operating, our focused commitment to serve our clients with zeal, ardor, and polished skill has not changed in over 97 years.
